Privacy Policy

Canv Agent™ · last updated 25 October 2026

This policy explains what the Canv Agent™ desktop app and its subscription send and keep, and who sees it. It is written for the Australian Privacy Principles. We are AutoMateMe, ABN 47 641 615 076 (“we”, “us”).

1. The short version

2. What stays on your computer

The app keeps its settings, your list of repositories, your licence file and each repository’s agent history on your computer. Each repository gets a .canvagent folder inside it, which is ignored by git. We cannot see any of this. Uninstalling the app does not delete it unless you tick “delete app data” in the uninstaller (which removes the app’s settings and licence folder, not your repositories).

3. Your AI providers

When an agent works, your prompts, files and results are exchanged between the agent’s program on your computer and its provider (for example Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or xAI). That relationship is between you and the provider, under their terms and privacy policies. Canv Agent does not sit in the middle and does not receive a copy.

4. What the app does send to us

WhenWhat is sentWhere
You send feedback or a bug reportThe type of report, your message, your email if you choose to give one, the app version and your operating system. If you switch “Include diagnostics” on, the diagnostics text as well. The app shows you exactly what that text contains before you send, and removes passwords, keys and tokens from it.automateme.au, then our feedback inbox
You have a subscriptionYour account key, so the licence server can check whether the subscription is active. The app does this when it checks your plan and the last check is more than an hour old. Without a subscription there is no key and no check.canvagent.com, which checks with Stripe
The app shows the subscribe promptA request for the Early Adopter count. It contains no personal information.automateme.au
The app checks for updatesA request for the latest version information, which reveals your app version and operating system. This runs only in builds where updates are switched on.Our update host

Like any internet request, each of these reaches our hosts with your IP address, which their logs may keep for a short time for security and troubleshooting. We do not use it to identify you.

5. Subscribing

If you subscribe, Stripe collects your payment details, billing name and email on its own checkout page. We never see or store your card number. We receive from Stripe your email, a customer identifier and your subscription status. We use these to create your account key, to email it to you (through our email provider, Resend), and to run the subscription check above. We keep this information while you have a subscription and for as long afterwards as the law requires us to keep financial records.

6. Who else handles this information

To run the app and subscription we use Stripe (payments), Netlify (the licence server and the canvagent.com website), Resend (email delivery), Cloudflare (update downloads) and the hosting provider of automateme.au (feedback reports). They process information for us under their own terms. Several operate in the United States and other countries, so information may be handled outside Australia. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising, and we disclose it only to these providers for the purposes above, or where the law requires.

7. Keeping it safe

The licence check and feedback reports are sent over HTTPS. The app’s internal services listen only on your own computer and require a per-launch secret. Your account key proves who you are to the licence server, so keep it private. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise otherwise.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, by emailing support@automateme.au. We will reply within a reasonable time. Some billing records we must keep by law. You can avoid sending us anything by not sending feedback and by staying on the free plan, which makes no licence check. The subscribe prompt’s Early Adopter count request, which contains no personal information, can’t be switched off.

9. Children

The app is a professional tool and is not aimed at children under 16.

10. Changes

If we change what the app sends or how we handle it, we will update this page and its date, and tell subscribers by email if the change is significant.

11. Questions and complaints

Contact support@automateme.au. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
